Nathaniel has been eagerly anticipating the firestation field trip with his preschool class. Finally the day arrived. It has been a good 6 months that Nathaniel has talked about wanting to be a firefighter when he grows up. So, this was a very special day. First, he got to see a fire safety movie with all his classmates. Then we went to the garage to see firefighters slide down the pole. Everyone got a turn to sit in the fire truck. 
We then watched one of the mom's get dressed up in all the firefighter gear. During the demo, one of the firetrucks left the station. Nathaniel was so focused on all the activities. To top it off, we got a coupon for free fries at McDonalds. We ended the morning as a group at the nearby McDonalds. Nathaniel's favorite part...seeing the firetruck zoom past us as he ate fries...and the movie.And we are almost at the end of our carbon fast...
Wednesday, April 8th: Check your tire pressure. Low tire pressure means higher fuel consumption.

I always stop to watch these big red boxes on wheels when they ZOOM by too! Who wouldn't?!? They make so much noise you can hardly ignore them. :-)
