new year's eve 2011

It feels like New Year's Eve was weeks and weeks ago.  I need to remind myself that we are only into the middle of January.  It makes me feel better that I'm not SO behind on posting personal pics of the holidays.  I'm not a huge New Year's Eve fan.  I've spent a number of years staying at home and crawling into bed before welcoming the new year.  Kids have that effect on me.  I am also very happy to celebrate with friends with a low key evening sharing food, drinks and many laughs.  It helps when our kids can also play together and only need the occasional check in by a parent.

This year we celebrated with a small group of friends.  We arrived just before supper and allowed the kids to make their own pizzas.  This is the perfect casual meal for kids.

Just before leaving, the karaoke machine got pulled out.  Of course we had to stay a bit longer.  Abigail was so pumped.  Unfortunately her brothers were fading fast.  It was a challenge to drag her away from the microphone.

Jesse singing "Party in the USA".

Although we returned home way before midnight, I felt like staying up to watch the celebrations on tv.  Andrew and I shared a hug, then went to bed.
