focus
Over the past two months I have shared briefly about the busyness in our household. Andrew has been preparing for a MAJOR exam for over 2 months. This Saturday is the big day. The last 2 months of Andrew's life have been working, studying and squeezing in family time. It has been a sacrifice and is a testament to his dedication as a father and physiotherapist. I think I say this to almost anyone that asks me about how he is doing...his focus blows me away! Mostly because I have very little of it. His ability to remain motivated and fulfill his roles in the daytime as a physio, the evening as he meets the needs of our children and his late evenings and weekends as he studies for this exam are amazing to me.
Yes, he is drained. He wants this Saturday over with. We all do. But I hope this entry will remind me, Andrew and our kids what kind of man he is. He gives his all. He strives to have the knowledge to help the people who come to see him with various problems. And he does this in such a giving and sensitive way. He has sacrificed so much these past 2 months. I hope he can focus on how much of himself he has put into this exam and that it is a reflection of his character and that the final result of the exam does not measure his worth as a professional. It is all of the work and dedication he has put into the process that really tells me and the people that care about him what his true value is.
Andrew, be confident. Believe in your knowledge and your skills. But most of all, believe in the man that you are - caring, sensitive, gifted, and so deeply loved.
