sushi

His request for his birthday supper was sushi.  Secretly I did a little cheer in my head when he shared his wish.  There are some restaurants that my kids enjoy that I do not.  Sushi is a shared love with all 5 of us.  Before supper, we all went to Nathaniel's hockey practice.  I promised Jesse that I would let him play one video game.  (Jesse plays on these machines all throughout Nathaniel's practice.  Even without money to play.)  Abigail helped him during his 30 second car race.

 After an early end of hockey for Nathaniel, we all headed for sushi.  Grandpa came along too.

 Finally the sushi arrived!

 Grandpa and Abigail were still eating so I brought out the camera again.

 Jesse opened his card from grandpa and took this picture.

 Then it was a farewell to Grandpa and back home for presents.

Jesse has been eyeing this guy for months in the toy aisle of our grocery store.  He was pretty pumped.

And Abigail was the closest to receive his spontaneous thank you.

Playtime began.

 Jesse also received The Lorax, which Abigail read.
