Our backyard will be hosting two different family get togethers this summer. The first was a gathering of my dad's side of the family. We always manage to find some time in December or early January to celebrate Christmas. With busy schedules, our celebration was organized for late June. Under the canopy of our century old trees, we shared a relaxed meal, outdoor play and casual conversations. I think this is the way to celebrate a belated winter holiday. I hope we are all in agreement to postpone Christmas 2011 to next summer. We'll be happy to host year after year.
The train hasn't travelled down our tracks on a Sunday afternoon for ages. The little ones (and big ones too) were thrilled. It even passed by twice!
The simpliest of meals - roasted hot dogs on an open fire.
All the cousins. This was a tough snapshot to organize.
Before heading home for work and school the next morning, Christmas gift bags were handed out for all the kids. Thank you Tante Anne for preparing all the gift bags with special treats and books chosen specially for each child. This made each one feel so special. You have such a wonderful way of passing on your love in such thoughtful ways.
See you all next year!
