celebrating 12 years

We're celebrating 12 years today.

This morning as the boys snuggled in our bed, Jesse reached over grabbing my hand and then Andrew's and  brought them together.  He lay there in the middle of us, holding each of our arms beaming that his Mommy and Daddy were right where he wanted them to be.  Connected to him and to each other.

The simplest of gestures from our 3 year old reminds me how easy it can be to find that connection with each other.  12 years together has challenged us to maintain that connection.  It can easily get placed to the side when we focus on our work and our children.  We both feel it when we've been apart for too long.

So in our marriage we try to find ways to stay connected.  We try to encourage each other to grow and help the other when feeling stuck.  We love our time together as a family and celebrate what we have created in each of our beautiful children.

There is so much to celebrate.

FYI - The picture above was taken at a recent photo shoot with Andrew's family.  For more pictures from that day you can check out Morgan Falk's blog here.

Congratulations friends! Has it already been 12 years since we made the journey and celebrated with you at the Elora Gorge?!? Do you remember our 'tribute'?
Your love is better than ice cream, better than anything else that I've tried...
Wishing you many more wonderful years ahead!
