Today is my mom's birthday. Happy Birthday! We celebrated as a family on Sunday by meeting for lunch at a restaurant inside a local retirement centre. My boys (Abigail stayed at church for her Christmas pagaent rehearsal) loved the buffet lunch and ran around exploring the model train and Christmas decorations.
Jesse with his cousin Evelyn. Notice he is just watching the train.
Everyone took turns sitting on the horses. Jesse had to sit on all 4 of them.
"Yeehaa!"
My boys are so well behaved, so innocent. A mother's dream.
Until their photographer mother, whose too busy trying to get a nice shot of the boys, fails to prevent her youngest child from breaking the train and getting reprimanded by the retirement home staff. Okay, the train wasn't permanently damaged, but I did get quite the attitude from the staff member. I quickly ushered my kids out of the vicinity of the train and urged the rest of our family to high tail it out of there. Of course Jesse kept running back to the scene of the crime, wanting to see the broken train. We did manage to leave without damaging any other property. I'm pretty sure they'll let us come back again.
We then spent the rest of the day at my parents.
We sang Happy Birthday to Grandma. I love this shot. The candle would not blow out. Finally it did. I'd share that shot but my shutter speed was too low and there is a lot of motion blur.
Before we went home there was just enough time for a game of Battleship...
and cuddle time on the couch while watching a Christmas program. It was a good day.
