oh canada

It has become our tradition to head over to the university for their Canada Day celebrations. Yesterday's weather was a bit unpredicable and I was thinking that we were going to miss out on our family tradition. But by late afternoon the rain had subsided and we decided to head over and enjoy the family fun. We quickly packed a picnic and drove over to Columbia Lake. The rain had made all of the bouncy castles wet but luckily the lines were shorter than most years.

Jesse was happy to watch while A & N went on the first bouncy castle. We then found a Jesse friendly castle and the 3 were thrilled to share the bouncing and sliding together.

We stood in line a few times. (Yes, we try to all dress in Canada Day attire.)

Another tradition that started last year was letting the kids share some cotton candy. Jesse had a try but didn't like it. Nathaniel and Abigail made up for it. Abigail was a bit more refined in her cotton candy eating.
Nathaniel dove right in.

Finger licking good.

As we left, we picked up a flag. This was a hit with Jesse.

And as we walked the long trek back to our van, Abigail took a side trip to this small pond on the side of the road. Nathaniel and Jesse were right there, happy to share in throwing rocks into the water.
This was my attempt at a quick photo of the kids. Jesse was only interested in the rocks. Love Abigail's expression. She tried keeping Jesse on her lap. Oh well. Shortly after this shot, Jesse fell into the rocks and I called it a night.
