Double digits. I can't believe my girl is now ten! To celebrate we hosted a henna party for Abigail's birthday. We cleaned up the last of the boxes in the living room, blew up lots of balloons and hosted a great group of girls. Here's how the party went down.
When the girls arrived, they got busy painting their own canvas.
Our beautiful henna artist was ready to create her exquisite art. Andrew was first up.
The girls were focused creating at this point of the party.
Abigail planned a few games. First up, pin the petal on the flower.
During the games, the girls each had a turn getting a henna tattoo.
It was then time for food! I planned the food so everything was bite size and easy to eat if you had a henna tattoo drying. There was veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, fruit, mini sausages on a bun, and vegetable samosas (these hadn't made it to the table yet.) And lemonade to drink.
Abigail helped pick out flowers for our table centrepiece. Each guest took one of the flowers home at the end of the party.
Jesse wanted his picture taken with his new stuffed dog, Fluffy.
There were a few rounds of charades.
Abigail struggled between choosing Oreo cupcakes and ice cream cupcakes. Ice cream cupcakes won.
The birthday girl and her party guests.
Along with a flower, each girl received a henna cookie before they left. I had the cookies custom made at Candy Wishes and Sugar Dreams.
The boys were surprised with Picachu cookies.
Any extra time was spent dancing.
It's been a number of years since we hosted a birthday party in our home. Although it is much more work, I do love organizing and planning these special celebrations for my children. Our henna themed party was a success.
