nine year old

She's nine!  We celebrated our girl last Thursday with the customary gift in the morning.  Abigail predicted getting clothes as her first gift of the day.  She was right.  The only thing I didn't predict was the light coating of snow on our picnic table when we woke up.  But she still chose to wear her capri pants to school.

Abigail chose sushi for her supper out.  I love my girl!  We invited Grandma and Grandpa and were thrilled that Uncle Dan and Rachelle had flown in from BC the night before.  What a treat to have so many special people share this meal with us.

Lots of california roll for this nine year old.

When returned to our house for presents and cupcakes.  First there was some music making.

And tickling.

Then Abigail opened up the rest of her gifts.  She loves receives notebooks.

She was very appreciative.

Nathaniel was not loving the blue nail polish she had just opened.

And this gift was at the top of Abigail's list.  The movie Tangled.

Awaiting the ice cream cupcakes.

It was a great day for Abigail.  She shared later that she loved her day at school.  Her teacher asked her to be the assistant Easter Bunny and put all her classmates Easter baskets out.  She felt so special to be chosen for this job.  All the chocolate from school was a bonus.  Plus it was pizza day.  Add sushi, gifts and cupcakes - it's a hands down perfect day for a new nine year old.
