It has been three months since we moved out of our home to begin a total renovation. It is amazing to me to look through these before pictures. The space has already changed so dramatically. This room which sits at the back of the house on the second floor has always been a bonus room. It was never finished by the previous owners. At a time, the renter of the apartment unit used this as a pottery studio. This has always been the room where I have hung up laundry. The washing machine is in the basement, but I have this thing about not drying my laundry in the dryer. I will miss having this room when we return.
This space will become our master bedroom. The wall between this room and the playroom has been taken down.
The opening into the old apartment and the space I used as a craft/computer room, has been closed up.
New windows have been installed.
The space after a day of demo.
The above view shows the opened up space. As I stood in this room a number of weeks ago, I looked at the wall to the left and knew we needed to design for an additional window. So, a brand new window has now been ordered and will be arriving in the next 2 weeks. (If you scroll back up to the first picture, the new window will be above Jesse's head.)
The insulation from the ceiling has now been put back after reinforcing the joists.
