The front of our house was the main entrance for our upstairs apartment. It's been 7 years since we've had tenants and we never used this entrance. We used it as storage for our Chariot bike carrier and a designated area for all our thrift store donations. Looking down the hall, you can see right into the kitchen. The bedrooms are on either side of the hall.
In the picture below, I'm standing in the kitchen, looking down this same hallway.
Now the white door is open to see right to the front door.
More shots from the hallway. The entrance covered by the mirror was drywalled shut before we moved in. On the other side was our bedroom.
And then the demo. A view from the kitchen down the hall.
A few hours later.
And from the front looking into the kitchen (with the missing stove.)
The bottom picture will be the new location of our basement stairs. They will be stacked under the main stairs. The old location was off the kitchen where my new pantry will be. (Yeah! Storage!)
Bye bye Wall!

Wow! It's incredible the amount of change your home is going through. Unbelievable!
So fun to see the progress. That mirror that was in the hall -- beautiful!! I hope you're keeping it. Leaving it gold or spray painting it white would be fabulous (of course, I'm in a white phase right now). Mirrors are a great decorating tool.
Leanne - I am in such a white phase too! Yes, we kept it and will be spraying it. Not sure where it will go yet. And the previous owners left that mirror when they moved. Lucky us!
After seeing your railing on the staircase, I understand why you were sad it couldn't be kept. It looked lovely!
Amazing! I don't know how you're finding the time and energy to do this, but bravo :-)
