143 years

I'm a bit behind in posting.  I'm just going to blame it on the heat.  Just like I'm blaming my lack of cooking and cleaning on the heat.  But, no more excuses!

There are two things that we try to do on Canada Day.  First, we hit the Joseph Schneider House for their horse drawn wagon rides.  This year it was just me and the boys.  We got two rides pulled by Rocky (left) and Bonnie Lynn (right).

Of course we had to help celebrate Canada's birthday with some cake.

Number 2 on the list is heading down to the Columbia Lake festivities.  After parking our car we always pass this house.  They have a great view of the lake and the fireworks.  Every year they mow some message into their lawn.  I finally took a picture of it.

And here's what we come for.  Bouncy castles, music and food.

We hit the long lines of kids and parents at the bouncy castles.  Thankfully it wasn't too hot to stand waiting in the sun.

Time for some bouncing!

There's something about this shot that I love.  (Despite the focusing problems.)

Waiting in line for another bouncy castle.

Great pic Andrew!

This castle had a great slide.

We had some supper and saw huge trays of cupcakes being carried to this tent.  Of course we had to follow them.  After singing Happy Birthday we all got free cupcakes.  A great day of traditions.
